THE WRITE STEPS offers a developmental editing service for writers of fiction

You’ve written a short story or a novel… but what now?

Either you’re not sure if your work is ready to submit or you’ve submitted it and it’s been rejected. You know that publishing houses and literary magazines receive vast numbers of manuscripts but only a few make it into print. So what can I do to help you?

Employing a professional editor to review your writing before you submit (or re-submit) your work will not guarantee publication, but it will give you a better chance of realising your ambitions. Why?

A developmental editor’s job is to make good writing better. A skilled editor will not strip your work of its personality, but will prune and refine your manuscript to allow the true quality of your writing to shine through. How?

Writers fall into two traps. They are either their own worst critic and can’t see what they are doing right; or they are their own worst enemy and can’t see where they are going wrong. I will give you an objective, honest and constructive assessment of your manuscript. I will then work with you to help you achieve everything you set out to achieve when you first put pen to paper. My purpose is simply to make you a better writer.

Let The Write Steps set you on the right road….
